Broadcasts are now manually verified

As we continue to improve the Zookoda mailing system the decision was reached yesterday to implement for an indeterminate time the ability for Customer Love to manually review each broadcast for sending approval. This decision was based upon the need to ensure spammers are removed from our system in order for use to increase trust from the web sites that receive Zookoda members mailings. It is unfortunate that we have to take this drastic step, but a necessary one to protect the integrity and use of our loyal members.

The implications for this action means that all new and existing members need to be familiar with the Zookoda Anti-Spam and Terms of Service information. I will specifically point out section 2.4 in the Terms of Service. Now with the manual review we will be checking for compliance within these terms and requirements.

Another implication is that the broadcast that you schedule may not go out on time. This really has a bigger impact on single broadcasts as opposed to recurring broadcasts. Members who create a single broadcast at 3:00 am EST and schedule to be sent half an hour later will find that it won't. When it is approved however being passed the scheduled time will not affect if it will be sent or not.

Once a broadcast is reviewed and approved for sending you will not receive notification pertaining to such. So no news is good news. If however the reviewer deems that the broadcast is in-appropriate then you will receive an email notification that the broadcast has been rejected. At that point you will need to log back into Zookoda and check that: a) your email content is appropriate, b) your template design is appropriate, c) any other potential violations.

This was a tough decision, but a needed one if Zookoda is to grow and allow for more services to our loyal members. The manual review of broadcasts is a temporary action but will remain in place until we are confident that spammers have no future using Zookoda.
